"A good photograph requires a model's "revealment"...." - Edward Weston
I have photographed and worked with several female models over the past few years. All the women in the photographs are professional or amateur models, and had modeled before. All had posed nude prior to our working together, but none had posed with a male model.Three of the models are excellent artists.
Working with women models changed how I look, and how I see. Working with models changed my body, my physiology responding to their selfhood, to their bodies, and to their sensual being.
Each model feeling the pictures more than seeing them.
Their self-exposed desire and the desire of others exposed.
Becoming sensual imagination.
Selfhood, grace, beauty, light-filled, light being.
Feeling the pictures more than seeing them.
I learned about being a picture from the models I have known, and especially from the other creatures with whom I have lived. Their vanity and exhibitionism co-exists with modesty, shyness, humility, grace, lack of pretense, sweetness, beauty, magic.
